Enjoy with your group this wonderful enclave of the Coast.

Mijas Pueblo has a typical appearance of the Arab period, extends through a side of the mountain, with its white houses in sharp contrast with the green of the pines and offering one of the most beautiful pictures of the Costa del Sol.

Mijas offers travelers the essence of the typical village in the mountains of Malaga, a contrast between the traditional image of these lands and their adaptation to changing times.
Our group will enjoy its whitewashed corners, its yards and gardens, along with its rich cuisine, viewpoints and shopping areas. The village retains the leisurely pace and charm of yesteryear, sheltered by the mountains and extending its gaze to the countryside and the Mediterranean Sea.

Besides tourist peculiarities, such as donkey-taxis, Mijas old town offers all visitors several interesting places to know, such as the bullring, tiny and irregularly shaped; two “Mudejar” churches; remains of the old arab fort where beautiful gardens and the interesting sanctuary of the “Virgen de la Peña”, patron of the town are located. From almost any point of the village you can see the white chapel of “El Calvario”, located in a higher level..

It also should be noticed, the House Museum and the Museum of Miniatures.

Our group will discover the Old Town and the main tourist and commercial areas.

Come and enjoy this group-tour to visit this wonderful place in the Costa del Sol, with stunning views from its many viewpoints of the coast and the Mediterranean Sea.

Here we offer some suggestions and recommendations during your visit

-Donkey taxi tours

In Mijas in the early 60s, some farmers returning to their homes by donkey, were requested by visitors and tourists to photograph or take a walk.
Since then walks and tours are offered in groups to visit its streets and most typical places.
Nowadays this activity is a Mijas brand and one of its main attractions.

-Gardens of the fortress and viewpointb

Remains of the ancient fortress where the village was located. The gardens have been designed following the course of the fort and the viewpoint is one of the most impressive at the coast.

-Bullfighting museum – Bullring

The Mijas bullring was built in 1900 and is nestled on the rock.
Its main gateway maintains the stamp of a typical white house at Mijas old town.
This “plaza de toros” was built in oval shape, one of the few in Spain

In the bullfighting museum will find utensils used in bullfights, different photographs from other “arenas” and old pictures from famous “matadores” among others.

-Visit historic – Ethnology museuma

El Carromato de Max, opened in May 1972, is one of the attractions of Mijas that you must see. No tourist who resist going after reading the signs to the museum entrance explaining what you can see inside:

A naval battle at the head of a pin
The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci on a grain of rice

The museum collection consists of 360 pieces in total

The Cart of Max is an original collection of miniatures whose main virtue is curiosity aroused by the strangeness of its subjects. The collection was formed along the countless professional travels made by Juan Millán, hypnotist professor with the artistic name of “Professor Max”.

-Sanctuary Virgen de la Peña
